These pads are specifically designed for children under 8 years old. When connected to the AED, the device recognizes the pediatric pads and reduces the energy delivered during a shock to minimize the risk of injury or damage to a child's developing body and organs.
IMPORTANT: Treatment should never be delayed to determine a child's exact weight or age. While pediatric pads are preferred, if time does not allow for age determination or pad switching, adult pads should be used without hesitation. When placing defibrillation pads on a child, one pad should be placed on the chest and the other on the back (refer to the illustration on the pediatric pad package for guidance).
Due to their adhesive backing, defibrillation pads are for one-time use only and must be replaced immediately after use or before the expiration date listed on the package.
